Tweed!

My suit is here and it is fantastic! I may need to hem the leg, but otherwise the cut is about perfect. It is very comfortable and the wind breaths right through it to stay cool. I love the tapered sporting waist and the blue silk inside is lovely. I will post more photos once I have some one to take them besides me!

14 days

Winnie got her fancy clothing today. My suit just cleared customs last night so it should be speeding this way now. 14 days!

Three weeks to go

Just over three weeks left... Winnie knows what she'll be wearing!

44 days

44 days left, and the invites are out. I stopped counting how long these took, I am just happy they are done! And doubly happy that the man at the post office caught that I had under stamped them, otherwise the ALL would have been sent back here, for more postage. Ruining all the hand addressed envelopes. *shudder*

Brass Messengers

We just signed up these people to play music after dinner. They were our #1 choice! Wow!

Clyde

I went with the Clyde fabric! Suit, vest and pants. A bit more than I wanted to spend but it should be great. For those who were fans of the blue Morton, they ended up being sold out of that fabric!

I will have to get a jacket of my dark tweed herringbone some day, I do love that fabric. Just too dark, and to warm for August 29th though.

Jackets

The wedding is starting to feel very close now, so I am moving ahead with, well everything. My latest (besides music, food, and invites) is what I am going to wear, since Megan has been taken care of for months now. Well, at least she owns the dress!

I scoured the internet last night looking for some things I liked, regardless of the cost. And really, I dislike almost everything. It doesn't help that I really don't like suits! Everyone just wants to be James Bond or a mob boss in all the photos, and it is an aesthetic that I just am not into. So, I found some things that are a little different, and mostly made of things other than wool or cotton. Since I am planning on having the shirt under the jacket do most of the talking, the jacket just needs to be simple yet interesting.

More of a real Jacket than a suit, from travel smith. $$
A silk "soft jacket" from Neiman Marcus. $$$$$
More standard, but I like the lapels $
Bannana Republic wool and linen $$
J Crew linen 3 button. I am liking the linen. $$
Neiman Marcus velvet blazer. $$$

In all, I love the really expensive silk jacket, but practically I like the J Crew one too. Not sure how it would work with a nice shirt though...

Development!

We have been working on the wedding little by little, but today we made a big step forward... We have an officiant! So, we have the bare essentials of a wedding in place- a location, someone to marry us, and food. All the rest is just details, right?
